great taste awards

The Great Taste Awards, organised by The Guild of Fine Food, are described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize!’
The 2011 winners are all passionate people who care about the quality of food they produce.
There were 7482 products entered with 1686 of them awarded one-star gold; 608 of them a two-star and the elite three-star gold went to only 114 foods. There are also major individual awards such as awards for best speciality from the various regions.
The award rating is:
• One-star: Close to perfect
• Two –star: Faultless
• Three star: Wow, you must taste this!
