FoodLovers Britain, viagra the local and speciality food marketing operation set up by veteran food journalist Henrietta Green, has ceased trading.
Green has been seeking investors for the business, which ran a consumer website promoting “approved” food companies. It also organised a programme of FoodLovers Fairs and markets alongside established consumer food and lifestyle shows such as MasterChef Live.
Food companies paid an annual fee to be part of FoodLovers Britain and to be featured in its online shop.
In an email to past and present members this week, Green said she could not afford to continue supporting the business after trying for several months to find investors or secure an outright sale.
She said exhibition organisers had agreed to honour contracts with any producers that had booked space in FoodLovers Approved areas at their consumer shows.
The website, www.foodloversbritain.com, will “cease to exist within the next few weeks”, she added.
Green described the closure of the business as “a huge personal wrench” but said she would continue to work in the sector as a journalist and consultant.
